You have the right to organize and unionize without fear of retribution by your employer. Your employer MAY NOT discriminate against you for participating in or discussing a union. In the city of San Francisco you have the right to know your schedule TWO WEEKS in advance. Any change in schedule less than two weeks in advance must be reimbursed to you by your employer with “predictability pay.” In the state of California, you have the right to overtime pay (one and a half time the ordinary minimum wage) once you have worked more than eight hours in one day, or more than forty hours in one week. If you feel that your work place rights are being violated, or you wish to learn more, please contact the Office of Labor Standards Enforcement or contact the San Francisco Living Wage Coalition for assistance.
